The Yingping wet market, known to older Xiamen people as the Eighth Market. Morning stalls sell oysters, sipunculid worms, live shrimp and fish killed to order; the alleys around it hold snack stalls that have not moved in decades — misua soup, peanut soup, sea-worm jelly, fried five-spice rolls. Come early, stalls close through the afternoon.
