Inscribed by UNESCO in 2017 as Kulangsu: a Historic International Settlement. Over 1,000 buildings from the mid-19th to mid-20th century — consulates, churches, schools, villas and Minnan red-brick houses standing on the same street, built by a mixed community of foreign residents and locals. There are no cars on the island; you walk. Reach it by ferry (about 35 yuan return).
