The Zhonggu cable car climbs from the west side of the botanical garden — 80 yuan return, skimming the treetops past Xiamen University, Nanputuo Temple and the sea. Alternatively, the 55th-floor observatory in the Shimao twin towers (about 160 yuan) looks straight at Kulangsu. Sunset is best and also the most crowded.
