A compact lake in the south of the old city, ringed by Song and Ming gardens, stone bridges and the lanes that produced whole generations of scholars. It adjoins Tianyi Pavilion but is a park in its own right — quiet on weekdays, and best in late afternoon when the willows drop into the water.
