Completed in 1968, the first road-and-rail bridge across the Yangtze designed and built entirely by China — before it, foreign engineers had called the silty riverbed impossible. Double-deck: trains below, cars and pedestrians above, with the 70-metre bridgehead towers at the south end. A piece of industrial heritage, and still carrying traffic today.
